Cabinets
The cabinets date from the mid-1990s to 2001. They started as an exploration of the frame and of how photographs are presented. Jars contain the objects photographed and cabinets display them in a collection. The cabinets with wings that can be opened and closed were inspired by Matthias Grünewald’s Isenheim Altarpiece in Colmar, France. The photographs in most pieces were taken the same day in one place and suggest an old-fashioned memory storage system.
